Wind....it's a rush

Image
The first windstorm at our home took down the neighbours tree, the trampoline was picked up and carried away and broke and our power was knocked out for a few hours.  The noise was loud sleep was lost but mostly we were warm safe and fed.  It's like like a big gush of wind strikes things down, but you have to carry on and pick up the pieces.  Keep moving, clean it up as best as you can.  No it's not always replaceable or fixable, it makes things change, but who knows what those changes will bring.  The second windstorm did a lot more damage in the town we were in.  Many were without power, some for days, beautiful trees were knocked down, fences torn away, and well in our backyard 3 apples trees came crashing down.  No more applesauce from this backyard.  Again it's a matter of picking up the pieces, or cleaning up the mess and moving on.  No one was hurt with all those storms so that's a blessing indeed.  In the mea...

Our celebration

Image
So we celebrated our 11th anniversary away from home in a warmer climate.  We challenged ourselves to do some new things on Maui.  We met our challenge and had a fantastic trip.  It was nice to relax and unwind from the super crazy happenings back at home.  Let's just say before I left for the trip I was more then ready to shut down my brain.  It was on overload..... Here are some photos from our journey. First Breakfast....so quiet Only could hear the crash of the waves and feel the breeze of the wind. This was our condo 12th floor ocean front On our anniversary we rented this little Vespa We zoomed around the west side of the island. We felt more secure on this thing on those 1.5 lane roads.  It is much easier to run the scooter off to the side in case you see a car coming at you head on last second as opposed to a car to car head on :) Some pictures of us in the tropical sunshine exploring the beauty. Ended our e...

5 and growing up

Image
Our oldest of our little men had a birthday.  He finally hit the age of 5.  He's been in school a few months so the number isn't that shocking really.  He just loves school.   He always has this huge smile of satisfaction on his face after he leaves the bus.  Or it could be he's super excited to see me?  I don't think it's the latter though. He chose a paramedic theme for a birthday this year and it was another fun theme to have.  I hosted for the first time an all boys party.  What a difference!  Once the walkie talkies came out it was spy agents for the remainder of the party.....so easy! Here are some enjoyable moments from his birthday, and his friends celebrating and his family time celebrating (additional pictures will be edited soon)

Image
11 Years ago I woke up in jitters with excitement.  The day of our wedding.  I was to begin a new path of life.  I had really no idea what I was walking into, but the thrill and excitement of it all was just waiting for me! That day was a day to be a princess and I couldn't wait to marry my prince! Here is me and my prince 11 years later!  I definitely have more love and respect for him then I ever thought imaginable.  I won't say it's always been easy.  I'd say this past year may have been one of the toughest ones for me yet.  But we struggled through.  And it's made our love grow. Thanks my prince for standing by my side through every battle!  For giving me reasons to hang on.  This year may be another year of battles, but we've done it before, and we'll battle together again! Love you! For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a fu...

An only child?

Image
This one cracks me up!  Our 4th child attempting to be our only child? We headed out to do family photos at the river the other night. It was such a beautiful evening, but you'll have to wait for until I've sent out our christmas card to see our other photos :)

Boys

Image
This morning I was vehicle-less....and this afternoon I have to do a photo shoot.  So excited as been a very long time since I did one.  So the boys and I walked about and scoped out the area while I also managed to take out the camera and get a few cute smiles. Enjoy

Dad

God has granted us an earthly father.  He has showered all of his 6 children with love and care.  Recently we celebrated his life here on earth.  A 75 year milestone!  Each year hasn't been easy.  We've walked down many a complicated road with him.  This past week and a bit have also been a very big struggle, with much uncertainty in it.  Our earthly dad keeps reminding us of our Heavenly Father.  This Father grants us so much more care, attention and love than anyone else we know.  We are praying continually for this Heavenly Father to walk by our side and when we can't walk He is carrying us on this path of life. His well loved daughters.. And good looking sons All 6 of his blessings.... And many many more of his blessings...minus 8  Gotta love kids.  No matter what it's a party!   They all love him and he all loves them!  It was a good day of celebrating!
