Trestle Bridge

Nothing quite like waking up the roar and crash of the ocean waves.  It's one of my favourite sounds! It also is just calming listening to it during the night. "Mightier than the thunder of the great waters,  mightier than the breakers of the sea -  the LORD on high is Mighty".  Ps. 93:4   Today was a good day....even if we've been living in the misty fog of the ocean.  After a tasty breakfast it was cupcake time!  Followed by a bike ride to the beach to burn off those cupcakes and this time around we made some rock art!  The beach was full of warm sunshine and the campsite was little cold in the fog. After lunch we headed into Sooke again for a super fun bike ride on the Galloping Goose Trail!  If you are in the area this is a great ride!  The trestle bridges were a super highlight. We had a treat at McDonalds and then headed back to the frozen campground.... Kids took off on their bikes along with the walkie talkies and ...

I couldn't believe it!  Our oldest managed to sleep in the tent all alone the whole night.  Ahhh she is growing up way to quickly for my liking.  However her mother didn't sleep that well knowing she was in there alone....Even the loud screeching animal didn't wake her!  Ok it woke both of her parents up! Today was time to pack up the tent and trailer and move onto the next campground.  Before we reached the next campsite however we did a 4km round trip to Mystic Beach.  The kids had a nice shower under the trickle of a waterfall and jumped in and around the ocean once again.  This time they came fully prepared with their swimsuits on. The sand here is beautiful!  We made some snakes and Dino's and other pieces of art in it.   However leaving the beach proves to be a battle overtime!!!  The hike back up to the trailer was a little more difficult then the way there.....but we made it!  The suspension bridge bouncing made for some g...

Off the Grid!!!

So we were camping with no cell phone reception!  It was kind of nice!  No one can bother you via email and social media pressures were out of the question.  Although my adopted grandmother wasn't doing well so I was a little anxious about not having any news.  (She's well now and back at home). The whole experience is a little like a fast/cleansing.  Rather than electronics we headed out into creation.  We managed to see 3 bears in one day!  How fantastic was that!!  One bear running in front of us across the road and a Mama bear with her cub on the beach.  So beautiful.  (Kept the kids far away from them)  We observed the mama and her cub as they were climbing around the rocks on an island shuffling through the trees.  They then climbed down and started walking to wherever they needed to go! We explored the tide pools in Port Renfrew.  The Mr. and I haven't been there since the day we were engaged.  Brought back g...

The world is watching the storms hurling its way across to a fro wherever it wants to go.  Although there is uncertainty for many we stand under the care and protection of a faithful God.  These storms only show a little power of what really stands behind His almighty hands. Some of us have other storms going on.....not ones the world sees or broadcasts, but maybe some  of our loved ones see.  They may seem overbearing and yet if we believe we can find protection and rest in our loving hands of our Heavenly Father if we seek him! Today marks 3 years ago that my Mom passed the storms of this life and now lives in a glorious life.  One with no concerns of storms or hurt.  Even if her story seems to fade from other peoples lives including my own children, I know it isn't over!  She has a story of forever now!  With this knowledge we live in peace. "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon y...
