Fun Family Times.......are these related to you?

Sunday marked another year gone by in my life.......lots has happened in the past year and more is to happen again of course.  We are excited to add a new addition to our family, go on a camping trip with the whole clan, head to California? And whatever adventures there are yet in store for us.  Of course these aren't happening in the order listed above. 

Anyways for my birthday I received a beautiful new gift from my hubby and girls.  A new lens for the camera.  Since the family was over it was as good of an opportunity as any to try and see how I like this new lens.  Of course we caught some pretty good pictures......but I still have to get used to the lens.  I only have a few days left to decide if I really like it or if I want to exchange it for something else to add to my camera collection.  Tonight I have a real trial with it as I have an engagement photography session to do.  Praying the weather holds out OK.....

No really this is how he chose to pose for the camera......it wasn't captured in just the spur of a moment as you may think.

Same with my precious niece....... I'm not sure what she was trying to tell us, but I love her anyways.

She loves to give us these cheesy grins, but still is so beautiful.

If only I could read all the thoughts that process through her little brain at times......too look deeper through those dark eyes.

And the latest bundle of joy.  He was cooking hot hence the diaper only pose.  It was a scorching 35 Celsius out there!  But he didn't seem to mind relaxing in the heat.  We did take him in the A/C house a few times to keep him a little cooler.......along came aunts and uncles too who needed to keep cool for a while.

Well we are off to camping by the end of this week and I need to prepare the rest of the amazing race I have planned.  I look forward to posting pictures of our long awaited family vacation.....and the crazy things families do.

A little bubbly

This was the very first night that I officially slept well.  Finally transitioned over to the Dutch time zone.... Started the day with by filling the stomach with a good Dutch style breakfast.  If you're not Dutch could you guess what it is? With full stomachs we headed out for the day.  It was a rather frightening start down the skinny Dutch little road.  It barely can handle a bike and a car passing each other.  So to our surprise a massive semi truck was barreling down the road.  We pulled over in a pullout but  became trapped between a large truck and the canal. That canal was not looking too pretty for a swim.... Glad we didn't end up going for that swim and the we had no extra rental car bills to pay as the truck nearly missed the sideview mirror.  After safely arriving to the park n' ride we caught the bus.  This is a fantastic system if you're in Holland!  It cost 5 Euro to park the car and ride the bus for up to 5 people! ...

Trips and treasures

A little while ago I put the link back up on my social media page from a blog about Mother's Day.  Although I get very emotional about the day and the upcoming to the day with my precious Mom being in heaven, I do remember that I have the honour of celebrating motherhood and celebrating with other mothers in my life.  I know it can be a difficult day for many in different ways.   My one little guy who hangs out with me a lot gave me a special treat when I was down....how can you not resist his smile, with a card, cup of water and an apple all delivered with that big smile and even bigger heart. Shortly after that day I was given the privilege of going on a much desired field trip with my daughter.  If you know me at all, or even through this blog you know how much I desire the ocean and the wonders of it.  This trip to Salt Spring Islands did not fail me or my wonder of our wonderful creator.  We have so much more to experience from the ocean..... ...

2021

 Turned the calendar to 2021 a while ago and just have not sat down behind the computer to type away in a while.  I just had those summer 2020 blog posts waiting to be completed.  At last that goal was accomplished and I feel like the rest of 2020 went awash......I made a video to summarize our year and felt like that was good enough to complete the year.   I won't say our 2021 had the most marvellous start.  Our family was in isolation and I can't remember what day it was of 24 days being inside our home that we rolled the new year in.  However we were loved upon by many family members and friends over the time of being indoors.  Also what better time in the world to be "stuck" at home as you can get your grocery deliveries and any other shopping done and delivered all within 24 hours.  We did not suffer.  We may have been a little stir crazy at points, but we made the best of it!
