A turned 5
And so as time flew on by we also celebrated A’s birthday.
D and I had a great time trying to find her gift. The most popular toy of 2011 the Leappad by Leapfrog. What an adventure. We tried online, we tried in stores, we tried having a system alert us when they were available, but within seconds poof they were gone. So we didn’t find one, but found her a Leapster Explorer instead. She said it was her favourite gift of her whole birthday! Phew! Mom and Dad did good.
The story doesn’t end here though. A few days ago while shopping in the USA we came upon this Leappad. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I picked it up and showed it to D and he says “were buying it!” I don’t’ care. So she now has exchanged her Leapster for the Leappad. So much fun! Well we think so!
Anyways the photo’s of her day(s)
Since Grandma and Grandpa just came back from Hawaii thought a turtle cake was an appropriate way to celebrate. I think he’s pretty cute!
Party #2 was a smartie cake to be celebrated with Auntie J. Always a fun time with cousins and grandparents etc.
In the morning before school. This was a new experience for us as we had to do gifts in the morning before school and get her on the bus on time…….actually we opted out on her “big” gift and gave it to her the night before so that she could actually figure out what it did.
A at school on her birthday! She had a fun day as they made gingerbread houses and I got to help out. I love volunteering in the Kindergarten classroom…..its always fun to watch the kids.
Party #3 with her friends. A requested a Tinkerbell cake made by me this year. I told her I didn’t think it was a good idea with 2 boys coming to the party…….so we incorporated a pirate ship to go along with it. This worked out well since we could now also incorporate a pirate hunt with her. It was a crazy afternoon/evening with 8 extra kids in the house, but it all worked out! And well it was fun!
