The Road we Travel.
So from my last post life has definitely shifted and changed. Time has been well spent with many loved ones supporting us in our grief. We also realize that our Dad has gained so much and so we can carry on in life with hope and reassurance. We can still enjoy the life we're granted here on earth. To see blessings in so many things. So we journey on! Although we have many moments and pauses where we reflect on things. Our youngest still asks for Grandpa regularly. Or we see something and say oh wouldn't Grandma and Grandpa F. just love to see this. Or hear about that.....thankful for the beautiful family that we have that can still partake in each other's joys and moments of accomplishment. Kakao is a very nice tool!
So what have we've been up too? Well of course we went off somewhere....

So the first day into our spring break was a little chaotic. This big news was still secret and after suffering flu like symptoms on the weekend and a toothache Sunday and Monday morning it was a mad dash and major push to get some dental work done on my tooth. Thanks to my brother and sister in law for taking in our kiddos last minute while a root canal could occur in my mouth..... The distraction of having to travel probably helped suffer through the after effects of this. Thankfully it's mostly taken care of....until it needs some more exploratory work done next week.
Although the day was chaotic it was a great excuse for not having any food left in the house unsuspiciously.....ha ha it gets a little sketchy when you have like no ingredients in your fridge. But i told the kids I was just too exhausted to grocery shop!
The next morning was an earlier start for me....the kids are typically awake anyways spring break or not! Well except for the oldest. I had to stomp and make huge ruckus of noise to disturb her sleep and yet not really shake her awake.....Dragged her upstairs for breakfast with Dad ???? That should've sent up the flags already. Anyways here they read the note in pure shock and a little anger. Ha ha. Our 2 year old bluntly states, but I don't want new LEGO!!!!! Our oldest was in no mood to be videoed in the moment. But guess what breakfast was finished in a flash and that was one of the noisiest and exciting road travels to Seattle airport that has ever happened! They were so excited and so it was worth the secret long kept.
So how does travelling with 6 people go.... It can have it's moments especially when our cheap genes kick in. Everyone has their own suitcase. Carry-On only!!! Who would pay $25/suitcase....when you can get it free? For the first time we traveled with our kids and NO stroller.....how did that happen?? Not sure if it was the wisest move as we did carry our 2 yr. old around a fair amount. Anyways the 6 suitcases 5 backpacks, 1 purse, 1 carseat, 1 booster seat all made it to baggage drop. Carseats and Boosters are free to put in luggage. And with TSA pre check we made it through security in a breeze. Only heard 3-4 snarky remarks about our family of 6 going through that security line but hey 6 people going through that line is 6 people and our kids were pretty quick. Yup, not sure if the rainy weather and "early" morning were playing a factor but people who travel a lot (or some people) who travel a lot don't appreciate families in airports. Especially a family that has 4 kids (YIKES) Thankful our kids didn't take notice and so we chipperly kept on going! And guess what because the planes are full of people and all that carry on you can check your luggage in for free at the gate. :) Yay! We didn't have to drag our luggage around at our layover.
On the airplane we went! Plugged in headphones, took out electronic devices, snacks, and new games/puzzle books and a happy 6 travellers we go! Believe me I'd fly any day over taking a car. Even if the travel day can be long, at least you're people watching....or watching your 2 yr. old like a hawk, have room to stretch your legs almost anytime you want. (Remember the seat belt sign has to be off). No car sickness......although sore ears due occur, it's short! Also going to a very exciting destination helps!
I'd share more, but I need the husbands photos to upload to the computer. It's kind of disinteresting reading a blog without all the pictures to tell the other half of the story that isn't written.

You were brave not to take a stroller along. Did you miss it at all?
