Reflecting Mother's Day

Image
"A Mother's Prayer" Lord give me patience for little ones. A gentle heart and words so kind, so when each child is grown and thinks of home, a loving place will come to mind.   Author: Unknown Thankful for my own upbringing... even if it means missing my own mom on this day. Thankful for the sisters, sister in laws, mother in law and aunts in my life who are all wonderful mothers!

There was more trouble from the loveable

The photo... The outer piece is a bobby pin. A smaller one and that piece within almost made us have a big repair bill.  It all started in the week after our move. We were picking up a few remaining items from our previous home. When we arrived in our current home we needed to unload our vehicle.  The little guy was playing in the front with the steering wheel. I guess he needed a key as that's how daddy drove and so in went the cord. But this time the tip broke off. Yes that tiny 2mm piece in the picture ended up in the ignition.  After 3 hours of struggling to get this piece out of the ignition we managed to save ourselves some $. We lost time...struggling with different tools and flashlights and learning how to take out an ignition. How to by pass the lock of the ignition without a key. And place the ignition back into the vehicle. The vehicle ran once again.  Who knew such a tiny piece could cause so much struggle.    Needless to say our youngest is als...

2 year old in the house

So my last post was about our youngest child having a birthday.  He’s 2 and although it’s my favorite stage and age in watching my children grow he has become my most challenging, heart attack giving child yet. He makes us laugh often especially when he becomes like a dinosaur. So there are mixed feelings about this age and stage with him. The heart attack event happened about 1 week after we moved into our new home.  We live on a busy street now but have a much bigger yard……..so the thoughts of him staying in the yard seemed reasonable no?  So much fun in that big lawn.  Well we purchased him a play lawn mower and we have a tiny strip of grass right beside the road that really needed a mow in his mind……so off he snuck in the 3 minutes I didn’t check on him if he was still in the backyard.  And started mowing the lawn out beside the road.  Needless to say it was rush hour as people were starting to head home from work.  Cars thankfully were slowing do...

Florida Photo Overload

Image
So it’s been a busy few weeks since we’ve been home from our family friendly vacation in Florida.  A good kind of busy.  We sold our home and moved and are attempting at settling in.  Today was my first attempt at doing some baking as the freezer is really lacking in breakfasts…….and many other goodies I tend to keep on hand for our family of 6.  It will slowly get filled.  I’m loving the big new island in the center of my kitchen to work with! Anyways I had promised more photos of days on our Florida trip.  So here they are! Pool Happiness!  Although I was a little nervous having a pool with our almost 2 year old it was loads of fun!  Hours were spent in it.  Diving lessons, splashing lessons, pretend swimming lessons, soaking up the rays etc. All in the pool! What’s a vacation without pulling out my camera for some enjoyable fun.  Seriously he’s the cutest isn’t he???  His 2 year photo shoot……….can’t wait to make som...
