Pre-30th Celebration

 

So it’s the big 3-0 year for me and there is a lot going on in my life right now, but it doesn’t mean I’ve slowed down and haven’t taken time to celebrate the life I’ve been given.  So I’ve started celebrating this year with some great friends!

These are the friends that have been around and supported me through all the important years, moments, and memories of life. These are what I call my golden friends. (You remember that song right.  Make new friends, but keep the old….)  Unfortunately all the golden friends couldn’t make it to this celebration.  Life has moved and shifted us all into many different directions. Some live farther away and others run very busy home lives.  We missed the ones that couldn’t make it, but the ones who did come.  I had a blast!  And I love you all!  Thanks for the fantastic weekend and to our one friends parents for loaning us this fantastic get-a-way location.

30 (or almost 30) and still looking good!

I’ve also did one more thing that I’ve wanted to do since I was 19.  It has been a long standing “joke” between D and I that he gets a bike I get to do something.  Well I’m tired of waiting for the bike to enter my garage so I went with another good friend out one evening organized by her husband and we celebrated our 30th in another way.  Will post a picture soon when I have a nice one……..Those of you who know the deal will know what I have done.

A little bubbly

This was the very first night that I officially slept well.  Finally transitioned over to the Dutch time zone.... Started the day with by filling the stomach with a good Dutch style breakfast.  If you're not Dutch could you guess what it is? With full stomachs we headed out for the day.  It was a rather frightening start down the skinny Dutch little road.  It barely can handle a bike and a car passing each other.  So to our surprise a massive semi truck was barreling down the road.  We pulled over in a pullout but  became trapped between a large truck and the canal. That canal was not looking too pretty for a swim.... Glad we didn't end up going for that swim and the we had no extra rental car bills to pay as the truck nearly missed the sideview mirror.  After safely arriving to the park n' ride we caught the bus.  This is a fantastic system if you're in Holland!  It cost 5 Euro to park the car and ride the bus for up to 5 people! ...

Trips and treasures

A little while ago I put the link back up on my social media page from a blog about Mother's Day.  Although I get very emotional about the day and the upcoming to the day with my precious Mom being in heaven, I do remember that I have the honour of celebrating motherhood and celebrating with other mothers in my life.  I know it can be a difficult day for many in different ways.   My one little guy who hangs out with me a lot gave me a special treat when I was down....how can you not resist his smile, with a card, cup of water and an apple all delivered with that big smile and even bigger heart. Shortly after that day I was given the privilege of going on a much desired field trip with my daughter.  If you know me at all, or even through this blog you know how much I desire the ocean and the wonders of it.  This trip to Salt Spring Islands did not fail me or my wonder of our wonderful creator.  We have so much more to experience from the ocean..... ...

2021

 Turned the calendar to 2021 a while ago and just have not sat down behind the computer to type away in a while.  I just had those summer 2020 blog posts waiting to be completed.  At last that goal was accomplished and I feel like the rest of 2020 went awash......I made a video to summarize our year and felt like that was good enough to complete the year.   I won't say our 2021 had the most marvellous start.  Our family was in isolation and I can't remember what day it was of 24 days being inside our home that we rolled the new year in.  However we were loved upon by many family members and friends over the time of being indoors.  Also what better time in the world to be "stuck" at home as you can get your grocery deliveries and any other shopping done and delivered all within 24 hours.  We did not suffer.  We may have been a little stir crazy at points, but we made the best of it!
