Day 2 Miami
As I am typing this the sun has long set, the ocean is not visible, but you use your other senses and just hear the waves crash into shore. The winds and the rains have calmed down today, but the dark grey skies are still lingering today. The warmth is fantastic though, so who care about the grey skies?? As we're told today that we're just working on our base tan......hahaha red head tan, yeah not so much, but at least I have no threat of burning either!
The morning started out fantastic here. Slept in and ate breakfast on the patio while we watched the dark clouds roll by at super speeds and listened to the waves and watched the kite boarders fly around in them.
We were a little behind schedule as where we wanted to be, but thought heading to worship was better then not going. So we headed into the city for service. Well we're unsure what an 11 o'clock start time means here. We arrived 11:05 and were the first people besides the pastor. It was a great way to be introduced to lots of people in the congregation though and chat a little to the pastor to get to know them before the service officially started. Best part was when the pastor picked up the guitar to lead the singing during worship! Hmm the day one of our pastors would do that??? :)
We enjoyed some more fellowship with the believers post service then headed back to our place to make some lunch and do a little exploring around Miami. We ended up at Biscayne National park. It was beautiful and peaceful. We enjoyed the fisherman and seeing some baby fish protecting themselves in the rocks,. Also explored Cape Florida lighthouse. (Wouldn't want the keepers job of having to clean the lighthouse windows during those winds). We also walked down a bird sighting trail and saw so many different plants, dragonflies, butterflies but not too many birds. Oh one amazingly huge spider. All in all it was lush and warm and beautiful. The diversity of exploring something new is always fun.
We later drove to South Pointe Park to watch the cruise ship go by and walk the pier while the sun sort of tried to peak through and tease with the thought of watching a sunset??? We didn't actually stay to see if it would and went back to our place to cook another delicious dinner and listen to the waves crash. Now we are relaxing the evening away.

Only saw 2 birds and humongous spider (didn't have a big enough lens to capture it)
Also saw lots of beautiful flowers.
