Ice cream for breakfast?

It's Sunday morning and what better way to start the day but with ice cream for breakfast?  This is D's breakfast plate. Mine was the same minus the ice cream due to being lactose free😀
Actually in this case it's really a good thing!  I am not a beans person especially in the mornings ☺️. So no the picture below isn't delicious chocolate ice cream but a black bean mash.  A good way to start your day?
This fresh fruit dish though was definitely better the. Any ice cream 😀 Those pineapples....🍬🍬🍬🍬

Dining was all done poolside! Watching the morning butterflies fluttering by. 

Beetween meals we lounged and attempted some tanning on the beach. 

Some yummy lunch photos.  The above are apple strudels. I think I'm going to have to try making these!  Hot apples wrapped and probably deep fried in a dough coated with cinnamon and sugar. So good! Piping hot! And yes that is real ice cream! 

Our beach hammocks...did a lot of reading in these along the beach. And it's a very secluded beach so very peaceful!
 After listening to a sermon and a little more relaxation we kayaked in the estuary. I don't have any photo evidence as they were taken on the "real" camera.

Sunday nights outstanding dinner!  The mushroom toast is something else I need to look up!  My kids wouldn't appreciate it so maybe a romantic dinner back home when they are tucked in?
The third food picture D tried a local food called papusa. The local bread here. His was stuffed with some veggies and was really quite delicious. 
Sunday evening was the night my choir was to perform. I knew I would miss the performance but was thankful the wifi was working and we could stream in via live feed. It started 9:30pm local time. The whole resort was dark. We thought maybe they would shut the lights off on us around 10 to kick us to our room. They didn't! But the path back after the concert was done was a little dark!  Thankfully the iPhone has a flashlight ☺️

The pool was still lit up at night! 
That was our Sunday!

    Looks like you are the only ones there! Is it empty or did you just manage to get pictures with no one else on them?

A little bubbly

This was the very first night that I officially slept well.  Finally transitioned over to the Dutch time zone.... Started the day with by filling the stomach with a good Dutch style breakfast.  If you're not Dutch could you guess what it is? With full stomachs we headed out for the day.  It was a rather frightening start down the skinny Dutch little road.  It barely can handle a bike and a car passing each other.  So to our surprise a massive semi truck was barreling down the road.  We pulled over in a pullout but  became trapped between a large truck and the canal. That canal was not looking too pretty for a swim.... Glad we didn't end up going for that swim and the we had no extra rental car bills to pay as the truck nearly missed the sideview mirror.  After safely arriving to the park n' ride we caught the bus.  This is a fantastic system if you're in Holland!  It cost 5 Euro to park the car and ride the bus for up to 5 people! ...

Trips and treasures

A little while ago I put the link back up on my social media page from a blog about Mother's Day.  Although I get very emotional about the day and the upcoming to the day with my precious Mom being in heaven, I do remember that I have the honour of celebrating motherhood and celebrating with other mothers in my life.  I know it can be a difficult day for many in different ways.   My one little guy who hangs out with me a lot gave me a special treat when I was down....how can you not resist his smile, with a card, cup of water and an apple all delivered with that big smile and even bigger heart. Shortly after that day I was given the privilege of going on a much desired field trip with my daughter.  If you know me at all, or even through this blog you know how much I desire the ocean and the wonders of it.  This trip to Salt Spring Islands did not fail me or my wonder of our wonderful creator.  We have so much more to experience from the ocean..... ...

 Turned the calendar to 2021 a while ago and just have not sat down behind the computer to type away in a while.  I just had those summer 2020 blog posts waiting to be completed.  At last that goal was accomplished and I feel like the rest of 2020 went awash......I made a video to summarize our year and felt like that was good enough to complete the year.   I won't say our 2021 had the most marvellous start.  Our family was in isolation and I can't remember what day it was of 24 days being inside our home that we rolled the new year in.  However we were loved upon by many family members and friends over the time of being indoors.  Also what better time in the world to be "stuck" at home as you can get your grocery deliveries and any other shopping done and delivered all within 24 hours.  We did not suffer.  We may have been a little stir crazy at points, but we made the best of it!
