Sea World and the Gulf of Mexico
Our final day in Orlando. It was a mad dash of packing up and cleaning up our wonderful adventure home in Orlando. Time to say good bye to the Mickey mouse bed and the Dr. Seuss room, our own swimming pool and big bath. We were going to visit another tourist trap. This time around we made our way to Sea World. I've wanted to take the kids to Sea World for a long time. Ever since the first time I went their about 7 years ago. The shows are so fun to watch and its amazing watching Dolphins and Whales flip and splash and look like they are having a blast.
We needed to depart the house by 10 am with our luggage and an auntie squished in our Dodge caravan. We also needed to find a printer to save some money for our tickets and to have a parking pass for our next location. This somehow became the first confusion of the day. D and J were following us and then disappeared. Not sure how, but eventually with free wi-fi at Starbucks we came in contact again and met up at the front gate to enter the park. It didn't seem like it was going to be a great day. The 2 year old was in tears before we entered the 5 year old had non-working legs and so our day began. The first thing we did after seeing a few animals was take in the dolphin show...I'm still not sure if the kids really liked it or not. I'm sure in a few days we'll hear about it again. I think its pretty cool to watch.
After that we were sweaty hot and fairly hungry, so off to lunch in the Antarctic we go. It was fairly cool and the food was good!
We split up after that to allow the older wiser members of our group to go cool off with a splash while we went and watched oyster divers, and checked out the sharks. Our 6 year old was frightened and was protesting, but when we came out of the funky fish tank who of all wanted to do it again? So she took in her aunts and uncle and explored it again.
We proceeded to go watch the whale show and for some reason sat in the splash zone with a baby???? While most of waited out the time watching the whales play in the tank our 5 and 6 year olds when with their auntie on their very first roller coaster ride. Not bad! Wish I could have seen their faces, but i heard they loved it and after they were thrilled to show us that they went on it.
With ice cream in our bellies and a few rides and fun for the little members of the group we headed to visit the big white bear in the sunken ship. He was having a nice snooze as some of our kids should've had.
Our day at the park needed to end a little earlier then the day previous (Disney World) as we had a drive to do. We made it to the Gulf of Mexico in fairly good time. Everyone slept well in our beautiful condo here on Anna Maria Island. Thankfully it has a built in elevator (how fun was that) to carry those heavy suitcases to the third floor, a garage, comfy beds, whirlpool baths, and swimming pools really close by as well as the Gulf of Mexico all to be explored after a good nights rest!\
